Our organizing fee is charged at an hourly rate (2 hours minimum, 8 hours maximum per day). While most inside spaces can be completed in 8 hours or less, we like to see the area(s) to be organized in person to assess the needs of the job.

Upon completion of an on-site consultation, we will provide you with a written proposal WITHIN 48 hours, which will indicate what space(s) we intend to organize, the needed material/equipment, number of maids and the hourly rate. If agreed to, the consultation fee will apply as the deposit required to schedule the job.

While we always do our best based upon our past experience to estimate the amount of time every project will require, this is not guaranteed since each space and client is unique. Rest assured that we will be in constant communication with you and update you fully along the way.

Organizing Sessions Steps
Step 1 – EVALUATE
We begin the process with an in-depth 1-2 hour organizing diagnostic where we will….
-
Discuss your organizing goals over the phone/ video chat. During this initial conversation, we’ll have a light introduction, will talk about your goals, and project details, and schedule a home consultation ( up to 30 mins)
-
During our home consultation, we will assess problem areas in your home to get more details and finalize plans (up to 90 minutes)
-
Make product recommendations to you based on your personal needs and budget.
-
Create an organizing plan of action that is tailored specifically to your home/space and lifestyle.
Seeing and understanding your space allows me to brainstorm space organization solutions in real time. I will create a user-friendly, stress-reducing visual roadmap of what’s to come.

Step 2 – SORT
Time to dive in! This is the storm before the calm! Piles get clutter out into the open and ready for organization. We will sort like items into categories and take inventory of what you have. We will decide together what can be pared down, but you will have the final say. This is a key step in decluttering your area and figuring out what you have, what you need, and what you can let go of. Donations, items for consignment, trash, and recycling will be taken care of by us FREE OF CHARGE.

Step 3 – PURGE
We are there to offer support and help you gain clarity about your belongings with a fresh, professional perspective (plus, sorting is our thing!). With my field-tested organizing solutions, I will help you watch the stuff you don’t need or want to walk out the door. There are a lot of options for getting rid of purged items. LIM does everything possible to avoid landfills. Recycling, donating, or selling your items to make you some money are just a few of the additional services offered. At the end of each session, we can remove one carload of purged items from your home (ONCE AGAIN FREE OF CHARGE).
Step 4 – ORGANIZE
There is a place for everything. With your lifestyle in mind, we will find a labeled home for everything stays. We will put things back together into an organized, functional, labeled, beautiful, and most importantly, manageable system that works for you and your family.

Step 5 – MAINTAIN
After reducing clutter in your home by conducting a thorough clean-out, we implement systems to prevent reoccurring issues and help you get control of the problem that is controlling you. You not only get organized, but you also stay organized. To keep you on the right track, you will receive TWO -30 minutes Follow-up sessions after organization project is complete (I know you know by now…. FREE OF CHARGE) They can be weekly, monthly or whenever you decide you need some assistance within the following 6 months!
FOLLOW UP SESSION
Included with your session- Sometimes, things need tweaking. That is why I like to check in after your organizing project is complete. During these 2 30-minute mini-sessions, I will assess whether the new organizational system is truly working for you, and if something is a little off, I will adjust it accordingly. I don't just want to get you organized; I want to keep you organized.

Organizing VS Cleaning
As a professional organizer, I am often asked “What’s the difference between cleaning and organizing?” In order to do an effective cleaning job, the clutter must be dealt with first. Stacking and stuffing clutter will not have long-term benefits. While both are important and go hand in hand, it is important to note the differences between the two. Organizing and cleaning are entirely distinct undertakings which require you to have different thought processes and actions.

THE DIFFERENCE
CLEANING
Cleaning involves the use of cleaning products such as dust cloths, disinfectants, brooms, mops, cleaners, etc. Examples of cleaning activities include mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, vacuuming, using sudsy water to wash dishes, scouring a bathroom, or cleaning windows. Dusting and laundry are also cleaning activities.
ORGANIZING
Organizing is a very personal and emotional process of managing your belongings. It requires time and patience to go through the items and decide what to discard or keep. This means sorting out the clutter and items in your home or office and deciding what to keep, donate, or throw away. We also work together to decide how to organize the items that are remaining in the home, so that we can create a system that will work for them in the future. Examples may be putting belongings in a closet in an organized way or making the best use of the space. Getting organized can also be rearranging your pantry or kitchen cabinets so that everything is easier to find.

"You cannot truly be organized without doing at least some cleaning. You cannot have a clean home if there is endless clutter."

So, how do you know if you need a professional organizer or a cleaning service? Simply take a look at the space. Is the clutter unmanageable and needs to be organized to know what is actually there? Then you need a professional organizer. Is the clutter mostly junk and dirt and leftovers you don’t know how to clear? Then a junk hauler and cleaning services are needed.

Life is Maid will be able to provide DEEP CLEANING SERVICES ONLY with any organizing project for an additional $15/hour.
